Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Charge Nurse (RN) for the Post Acute Unit at Helen Porter Rehabilitation & Nursing, part of The University of Vermont Health Network. In this role, you will lead the nursing team with specialized knowledge and skills to support medical care, following principles of biological, physiological, behavioral, and social sciences. This position involves working as a Charge Nurse on day shifts every Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.
Differentials
- Charge: $3.00 per hour
- Evening: $3.00 per hour
- Night: $5.00 per hour
- Weekend: $2.00 per hour (in addition to applicable shift differentials)
RN Base Pay Rate Range: $34.88 - $53.93
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current RN licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required.
Experience
Previous post-acute experience preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will possess empathy, reliability, teamwork skills, strong communication abilities, basic computer knowledge, and a strong aptitude for patient care and customer service.

About the Post-Acute Unit
The Post-Acute Unit at UVMHN Helen Porter offers goal-directed care post-surgery or hospitalization, with specialized treatment programs focused on independence. Conditions treated include strokes, neurological, orthopedic, respiratory issues, and more. Therapy services are available Monday to Saturday, with nursing staff extending therapies when therapists are not present.
