Position Overview

The Executive Director, Late Development Team Lead (LDTL) is a pivotal role responsible for spearheading the late-stage product lifecycle of innovative drugs in oncology. As the leader of the Late Development Team (LDT), the LDTL is tasked with driving strategic and operational decisions to advance products from proof of concept to approval while balancing scientific rigor, speed, and program value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee cross-functional LDT(s) to execute product strategies from POC to approval.
  • Drive the vision and development strategy in collaboration with functional teams.
  • Align global product development opportunities with patients' needs and organizational goals.
  • Participate in long-range planning processes and governance reviews.
  • Provide strategic guidance to functional matrix teams and ensure resource optimization.
  • Mentor team members, encourage performance excellence, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize product value.
  • Ensure compliance with project budgets, timelines, and resource allocations.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of global drug development experience in pharma/biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated success in leading late-stage oncology drug development programs.
  • Proven ability to balance innovation, risk, and program speed effectively.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration skills.
  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required.
