Communication Facilitator-American Sign Language (ASL)

Job Description

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Communication Facilitator-American Sign Language (ASL) to join our Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and DeafBlind Educational Services Program. In this role, you will provide direct services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, facilitating communication to support educators and students in achieving their learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite services in school districts across Vermont.
• Offer basic sign interpreting and other communication modalities.
• Deliver services in classroom or educational settings.

Requirements

• American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency, ASLPI Level III and higher preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 2 years relevant college or professional training/experience.
• 1-3 years of experience working with children with varied language levels and communication needs.
