Job Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Construction Cost Project Analyst to join our National Real Estate Services team at Aldi. In this role, you will be responsible for managing construction costs on a national level, collaborating with divisional real estate teams to evaluate construction bids. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of construction documents and have an educational background in construction, architecture, or engineering. Your primary goal will be to ensure that construction costs align with project scopes and regional cost trends.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Construction Managers to develop negotiation points with contractors.
  • Collaborate with divisional leadership to clarify scopes and pricing.
  • Provide up-to-date pricing data to ensure consistent pricing structures.
  • Prepare detailed bid analysis reports for project awards.
  • Track pricing data and provide quarterly reports to management.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and anomalies in contractor submissions.
  • Perform material takeoffs and validate quantities.
  • Research alternative construction materials and methods for cost efficiency.
  • Review and approve contract pricing before execution.
  • Participate in market pricing reviews and provide pricing forecasts.
  • Train and develop team members to enhance productivity.

Job-specific Competencies

  • Ability to interpret construction documents and apply company policies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and construction cost software.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or Engineering required. Minimum of 5 years of progressive Construction Estimating experience.

Physical Requirements

May work in office or remotely; must be able to sit, stand, use a computer, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Travel

Domestic travel up to 10% may be required.
