Job Description
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. As a Pre-Op nurse in our 22-bay prep unit, you will play a crucial role in supporting patients before their surgeries. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including both inpatients and outpatients, across various service lines at our level 1 trauma center.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for surgeries by assessing their health status and ensuring readiness.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Provide emotional support and educate patients and their families about pre-operative care.
Requirements
- Valid RN license and BLS certification.
- Previous experience in a pre-operative setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
