Staff Nurse II/III

Job Description

The University of Vermont Health Network is looking for a Staff Nurse II/III to join the Addiction Treatment Center at UVM Medical Center. As a Staff Nurse, you will provide advanced nursing care to patients with substance use disorders and mental health conditions, coordinating their treatment plans and supporting their transition to lower levels of care. Additionally, you will play a key role in patient assessment, education, and coordination with labs and pharmacies.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide coordinated care to patients and families.
• Assess patient vitals and withdrawal symptoms.
• Coordinate patient care with toxicology labs and pharmacies.
• Ensure patients receive prescribed medications and complete prior authorizations.
• Administer point-of-care testing.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure recognized by the State of Vermont.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a Bachelor's program (with 5 years to complete).
• Three years of relevant RN experience with competencies specific to a clinical area.
• Experience working with substance use disorders preferred.
