Job Description

Join a professional team at the Ute Mountain Indian Health Service Unit. The Dentist will provide oral health services to the designated population in accordance with IHS policies and professional standards, and administer diagnostic and preventive oral health services to patients. The role includes developing treatment plans, performing various dental procedures, administering local anesthesia, and participating in educational programs for the improvement of health conditions among the service population.

Responsibilities

• Provide oral health service to the designated population in accordance with IHS policies and professional standards.
• Administer diagnostic and preventive oral health services to patients.
• Develop treatment plans and perform endodontic, prosthodontic, operative, periodontal, pedodontics, and oral surgery as needed.
• Administer local anesthesia, educate patients on good dental health practices, and participate in educational programs for the improvement of health conditions among the service population.
• Document findings in the electronic dental record (EDR) at the end of patient encounters according to policy and procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited dental school with a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree.
• Graduate of an accredited residency program in general dentistry.
• Hold a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration to practice General Dentistry in the region or state of practice.
• Certification by the American Board of General Dentistry.
• Credentialing and privileges to provide general dental services through the Southern Colorado Ute IHS Dental Clinic.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass federal security clearance.
