Job Description
Moonlight Basin is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Kids Recreation Supervisor for the summer season. As the Kids Recreation Supervisor, you will work closely with the Kids Recreation Counselors to develop and lead all aspects of summer recreational programming for children. You will provide leadership, training, and support to the counselors, and ensure quality programming and efficient daily operations under the guidance of the Kids Recreation Manager.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the operations of Kids Recreation programming, including Camp Moonlight, Moonlight Mini-Camp, Yurt Camp Outs, and special summer events with the assistance of the Kids Recreation Manager.
- Develop and implement lesson and activity plans for children in the program.
- Act as a resource for Kids Recreation Counselors daily and function as Manager on Duty in the absence of other supervisory staff.
- Serve as a point of contact for parents of participating campers.
- Assist in the daily setup and cleanup of programs.
- Ensure all children’s information/release forms are accurately filled out and signed in on the sign-in sheet by parents/guardians before leaving.
- Predict program needs, including inventory, space usage, staff scheduling, and organizational details.
- Handle reservation requests and take incoming phone calls, meeting all etiquette standards.
- Maintain accurate records for charging and communication with parents.
Requirements
- Degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Management, or similar degree, or a combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in childcare preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle unexpected or emergency situations during camp hours with the aid of management.
- Maintain a personable and professional attitude while interacting with all campers and parents/guardians.
- Current CPR/First Aid and ability to obtain Wilderness First Aid preferred.
- Available to work all shifts, including potential weekends and holidays.
