Job Description

The Animal Medical Center of Seattle, WA is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join the Emergency and ICU team. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will provide critical support for staff veterinarians, deliver top-quality nursing care, and ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Restrain and lift patients.
  • Assist in various non-DVM procedures across different specialties.
  • Maintain patient comfort and cleanliness.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed.
  • Monitor patient conditions and alert staff DVM of any changes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients and keeping them informed.
  • Perform laboratory work and take radiographs as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and well-equipped work environment.
  • Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
  • Report any concerns to the Shift Lead and ER/ICU Manager.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to nurse critically ill and emergency patients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer functions and veterinary software.
  • Effective communication skills and professionalism under pressure.
  • Fluency in English.

Education and Experience

  • AA degree or BA/BS degree from an accredited veterinary technician program.
  • Minimum of two years in critical care or emergency veterinary medicine.
  • Licensed technician in the state of Washington or eligibility for licensing.

Schedule

Choose between a 4/10 or 3/12 schedule with competitive compensation ranging from $30 to $40 per hour, or higher for Veterinary Technician Specialists.
