Job Description
The Animal Medical Center of Seattle, WA is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join the Emergency and ICU team. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will provide critical support for staff veterinarians, deliver top-quality nursing care, and ensure excellent customer service to clients and patients.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Restrain and lift patients.
- Assist in various non-DVM procedures across different specialties.
- Maintain patient comfort and cleanliness.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed.
- Monitor patient conditions and alert staff DVM of any changes.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients and keeping them informed.
- Perform laboratory work and take radiographs as needed.
- Maintain a clean and well-equipped work environment.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
- Report any concerns to the Shift Lead and ER/ICU Manager.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Ability to nurse critically ill and emergency patients.
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in basic computer functions and veterinary software.
- Effective communication skills and professionalism under pressure.
- Fluency in English.
Education and Experience
- AA degree or BA/BS degree from an accredited veterinary technician program.
- Minimum of two years in critical care or emergency veterinary medicine.
- Licensed technician in the state of Washington or eligibility for licensing.
Schedule
Choose between a 4/10 or 3/12 schedule with competitive compensation ranging from $30 to $40 per hour, or higher for Veterinary Technician Specialists.
