Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Mortgage Lender to join Civista Bank's team. As the Senior Mortgage Lender, you will play a crucial role in originating first mortgage loans, establishing relationships with referral partners in the real estate community, and addressing the financial needs of the community. Key Responsibilities

• Travel to source first mortgage and home equity loans through real estate and financial referral partners, as well as community engagements.
• Meet customers at diverse locations to discuss loan options.
• Complete loan applications and pre-processing tasks, ensuring all required documentation is obtained.
• Screen loan requests based on bank policies and underwriting guidelines.
• Educate clients on bank underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Stay informed about loan-related legislation and regulations, advising senior management on necessary policy changes.
• Communicate credit decisions to borrowers, real estate agents, and builders.
• Promote the bank's credit programs and community reinvestment activities.
• Engage with local businesses, builders, and real estate professionals.
• Additional duties as assigned to support key responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of Mortgage Lending experience in financial institutions or loan offices.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or equivalent work experience.
• Strong knowledge of banking industry practices, regulations, and compliance requirements related to mortgage lending.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data entry.
• Initiative, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Job Requirements

• This position involves frequent sales-related travel away from Civista Bank.
• Work may include prolonged computer use and concentration on tasks under varying conditions.
• Lifting and moving loan files may be required.
• Some travel for meetings, trainings, and real estate visits.
